Suchandra Vaaniya

Brief Introduction

Suchandra is an Actor turned Producer-Director from Kolkata, West Bengal. 

Purba Paschim Dakshin Uttar Ashbei, a spiritual thriller, her production house Just Studio’s first feature film was released in 2019 and had a hundred-day run at the box office. 

Her first directorial,a short, got nominated at the prestigious Montreal Film Festival in the “Best Female Debut Director” category in 2021.

Her production house Just Studio also produces Documentaries and Music Videos and renders production support for Advertisement, Brand Films and Digital Media Productions for clients. 

Suchandra is also an entrepreneur and outlets of her restaurant brand “BiriyaniKart” have been growing rapidly all over the state of Bengal. 

Conceived and launched during the COVID emergency of 2020, Suchandra’s NGO, Prayash has been instrumental in helping the rural population of Purulia, Bankura and the Sundarbans with medication and ration supplies along with jobs for sustainable growth.
