Describe yourself:

Self portraits are beautiful because they show others how we see ourselves. While metaphorically I like to see myself as a catalytic instrument in the wheel of life, I would like to describe the ‘me- person’ as a cheerful, happy, easy-going, friendly and rather thoughtful person. I am a creative thinker, very highly motivated in certain areas of life. I have been a raw foodist since my teens and like to promote good health and nutrition. Despite being in the medical profession, I try to avoid esoteric tendencies and enjoy all aspects of life. I believe the world is a summation of team- work, I believe in multiple intelligences and I believe in peace, modernisation, productivity, progress and prosperity.  I believe in humanity and a better world.

Current Profession:

I am a medical doctor in the field of Psychiatry.

Do you have a website:

I am working towards developing a website on health and nutrition.

3 achievements:

  1. I have recently completed my own model and theory on Talkless therapy in Psychiatry. It is to be utilized in certain situations within mental health. It is an entirely new concept in the field of therapy. It is not yet ready for publication as other commitments deter me. I believe Silence can be healing.
  2. Experimentation on life for around 6 months while dwelling in hardship and slum conditions to develop understanding and to contribute towards writing in the future. This helped me gain insight into life and humanity, to gain confidence and to develop a vision. This time of my life is particularly dear to me as I could have given up and left for my usual life but I did not, instead continuing to do what I set out for. I have friends who work tirelessly for homeless people including Connie Chung who has written a book on ‘ The politics of mothering’  and my hope is that at some stage I should  try to integrate aspects of mental health and my own experience and apply them to areas like homelessness.
  3. My Medical degree and a variety of achievements within this field. I am in the field of Psychiatry and I feel challenged and rewarded all the time when working with very severely mentally ill patients including people who have personality disorders esp borderline personality disorders which make people very labile and self harming whilst disintegrating their minds considerably. Each time I develop a rapport and am able to work positively with them, I feel I have achieved.

Tell us about your educational background:

I completed high school with distinction and repeated this as a secondary student in the field of science. I was over all a very good student and enjoyed reading. Thereafter, I qualified as a medical professional and currently I am in the field of Psychiatry.

Tell us more about your family, with whom are you closest:

My immediate family comprises of my parents and my sister, I am closest to my sister. My extended family is incredibly large and they are based all over the world. My family is a gregarious, fun loving and very supportive bunch!

What kind of modelling/ spokesperson work have you done:

I suppose I am a spokesperson and representative for what I have always believed in, promoting health, nutrition, peace, modernisation and progress amongst humanity.  I have never left a chance to motivate and encourage people towards a life of betterment and progressive thinking whether it be in my profession and work or amongst my friends.  Every moment for me is an opportunity in this beautiful vision I have. I have informally taken to writing on health on my facebook profile intending it to be a motivating factor for friends and intend to develop a website dedicated to health and nutrition soon, I am awaiting a certificate in Plant Nutrition before I start work on it.

Philantrophic work:

I have put myself forth as a volunteer in some UN based organisations and am  affiliated to writing for under-priviledged children for an organisation called PEOI. In the past I have written in newpapers and have done volunteer work as a medical professional. I have also been on the Board for a Cricket Players Selection Committee.

Favorite organisations:

United Nations

PEOI ( Professional Educational Organisation International )

Do you have any interest in politics?

No but I guess politics is inevitable while advocating change and progress in human life. Leadership inclinations and development of a central theme around which such change and progress can be brought about is crucial.

What is your dream job?

My own organisation working for health which I intend to name ‘ Lifestyle and mental health’

Who is your favorite role model?

It is actually a combination of Jennifer Aniston and Ayn Rand. I see in both of them a determination, courage, stamina and abilities that are amazing. I particularly think Ayn Rand harboured such kindness for humanity that it leaves a void behind that she is now merely a name. A very intelligent woman.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Definitely with my own organisation offering to improve health conditions of people in different circumstances mostly utilising certain health, nutrition and lifestyle quotients. And of course, with my own family, kids, love and laughter and yes! I see lots of dogs and cats around me too!
