I am a double board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist practicing in Los Angeles. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. I did my psychiatry residency training at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC and my child psychiatry fellowship at UCLA Medical Center. I currently work for two non-profit agencies, Aviva Children and Family Services, Masada Homes, and have a private practice in Los Angeles. I also am involved in quite a bit of medical journalism to help educate people about issues related to my field.

Your family:
I come from a family of highly educated professionals. My father, Krishna Narasimhan recieved a PhD in biotechnology with numerous publications and my mother, Seethalakshmi Narasimhan is an M.D. My brother, Krishnan Narasimhan, M.D. is a family practice physician and married to Dr. Nisha Vyas, an Ob/gyn. My uncle Dr. Krishna Narayanan is a plastic surgeon in Pittsburgh, PA.

Ten years from now where do you see yourself?
Surrounded by family, passionate about the work that I do, more publications, and more public speaking

How do you maintain work and life balance?
Exercise is my release, I workout and do yoga several times. I also make time to travel to visit family and friends. I appreciate music and find time to meditate daily.

Do you have any pets?
I had a dog for some years. I also had a cat in the past who acted like a dog, I would call her name out, she would turn around, meow, and come running over in addition to needing a ton of attention.
