What is your current occupation?
My current occupation is a stay at home mom. My career was a Certified Surgical Technologist. I used to work in the Operating Room specializing in Spine and Neuro.I also worked for the spinal fusion company Medtronic Sofamor Danek as a Surgical Clinical Specialist (basically I was there to make sure the surgeon knew how to use our equipment and troubleshoot any problems).
What are your top 3 achievements?
My top achievements are my children and wonderful marriage.
How many titles do you hold?
My titles have included Miss Jr. Indiana American Pre teen 1986, Miss Munster (my hometown) 1989. Miss Glamour Girl 1990, Miss Indiana Teen USA 1992, Miss Indiana American Coed 1994, Miss Indiana USA 1998, Ms. Indiana American United States 2000, Mrs. Indiana America 2001, Mrs. America 2001 and Mrs. World 2002.
How did you prepare for the pageant?
I prepare mentally and physically for a pageant months in advance. I make sure that I am current with what is going on in the world. I eat right and do cardio and light weight lifting to make sure I am lean and tone.
After becoming a titleholder, what special things have you done?
I have done so many wonderful things with all of my different titles, I think the things that stand out in my mind is the work I’ve done with children and elderly! It is great to see others faces light up when you give them something that can’t be measured with money, you give them attention and time!
Tell us about your educational background?
I graduated from Munster High School (Munster, IN) in 1993, then graduated from Vincennes University in 1996.
Tell us about your family, with whom you are closest?
I have a very close knit family. I am close with both of my sisters. Erica (25) and Brooke (23). My mom and I talk everyday as well. I have a best friend of 15 years and several bff’s through pageants!
What kind of modeling/acting/spokesperson experience you have?
I have done several different modeling and spokesperson events but what stand out in my mind is FOX Sports Net. I was a commentator for a Kennedy Charity event in Banff, Canada with many celebrities! It was interesting and fun.
What kind of philanthropic/fundraising experience you have?
I have raised money for MS, Cancer research and AIDS research.
Have you done any TV ads or been in a music video?
My main goal in life to help others so I never took modeling or acting seriously. I was one of the rare pageant contestants that was not into the entertainment world. The healthcare field has always been my passion.
